Our popular pub at Mount Macedon is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our FOH team.

About the Role

Working closely with management, you will assist with the day-to-day operation of the pub and help lead and develop our team.

Key responsibilities include

- Demonstrating strong knowledge of food and beverages
- Greeting and seating customers and ensuring a high level of customer service
- Managing bistro sections and coordinating staff during service
- Organising tables and bookings to ensure smooth service
- Setting up and closing the pub
- Preparing rosters based on business requirements and staff availability
- Managing staff and assisting with training and development of junior and trainee employees
- Maintaining OHS, cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Managing and maintaining the licensed bar
- Preparing and serving alcoholic beverages
- Liaising with the kitchen regarding bookings, events and customer requirements
- Processing guest accounts and transactions
- Assisting with stocktake, purchasing and ordering
- Using computer and POS systems
- Assisting with menu preparation and adjustments




- Monitoring rosters and staffing levels to maintain appropriate payroll costs

About You We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous pub or hospitality management experience
- Is confident leading and motivating a team
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills
- Is organised, reliable and able to work under pressure
- Has strong knowledge of food, beverage and bistro and events operations
- Takes pride in maintaining high service and presentation standards
- Is a genuine people person with a positive and qualified attitude
- Has a strong commitment to the hospitality industry
- Is flexible and available to work evenings and weekends

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
