About us Precision West Auto Electrical is a small, family-owned business supplying skilled tradespeople to a growing customer base. We know our people are central to our success, and we offer flexibility, support and a workplace where your contribution is valued.

We also operate a dedicated harness manufacturing workshop equipped with two braiding machines and an automatic taping machine, producing high-grade, custom braided wiring harnesses for any application. We manage the entire process in-house, from initial scoping and design through to manufacture and the finished braided harness. Design PDFs are retained in-house to support repeat builds, future modifications and diagnostic work.

This position is based in the Collie/Bunbury area. Local applicants are encouraged to apply, although accommodation may be considered for the right person.

About the role

You’ll carry out auto electrical diagnostics, repairs and maintenance across a wide-ranging fleet of heavy mining and earthmoving equipment, including Komatsu electric-drive dump trucks, Caterpillar graders and water carts, Caterpillar and Liebherr dozers, and Komatsu, Liebherr and O&K; excavators.

Your work will include

- Diagnosing faults and completing breakdown repairs.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance during scheduled servicing and shutdowns.
- Completing electrical upgrades, project work and refurbishments.
- Manufacturing, repairing and replacing wiring harnesses and electrical components.
- Working safely, meeting site requirements and coordinating with site supervisors.

As we continue to expand into other facets of the industry, field service opportunities may also become available in the future for those interested in broadening their experience.

What you’ll bring

- Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology.
- Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence.
- Current C-class driver’s licence.
- A practical approach to fault-finding and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- A reliable attitude and the ability to work safely as part of a team.

Experience with heavy mining and civil machinery is highly desirable. If you’re a qualified auto electrician looking to move into mining equipment, we encourage you to apply — on-the-job training is available. Working at Heights, Forklift and EWP tickets are desirable but not essential.
