We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Barista / Café Manager to take ownership of our Port Melbourne café.

This is a role for someone who genuinely loves making exceptional coffee, takes pride in great customer service and enjoys being the familiar face that customers look forward to seeing every morning.

You'll be working with a small, close-knit team, looking after the day-to-day running of the café and helping us maintain the welcoming atmosphere we're known for.

WHO WE ARE

Göz City is an independent Melbourne café business specialising in handmade gözleme, excellent food and specialty coffee.

Our Port Melbourne location combines a neighbourhood café with a small wholesale operation.

We're a hands-on business with a small team, and we're looking for someone who shares our passion for quality, hospitality and doing things well.

THE ROLE

You'll be responsible for keeping the café running smoothly, delivering excellent coffee and creating a great experience for every customer.

Your responsibilities will include

- Preparing consistently excellent specialty coffee
- Building genuine relationships with regular customers and creating a welcoming café environment
- Leading and supporting a small front-of-house team
- Managing daily café operations, including opening, ordering, stock control and cash handling
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, presentation and service
- Assisting with our small wholesale operation, including coordinating orders and helping with day-to-day requirements

This is a hands-on role. You'll be on the coffee machine,



serving customers and leading by example rather than managing from behind the scenes. ABOUT YOU The two things that matter most to us are your coffee skills and your customer service.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- Strong specialty coffee skills, with the ability to produce consistently excellent coffee in a busy environment
- Outstanding customer service skills and a genuinely friendly, engaging personality
- Confidence working independently and taking responsibility for the café
- Experience supervising or managing a café, or the ambition and ability to step into that role
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- A positive, reliable and hands-on attitude

You don't need years of management experience. If you're an excellent barista with natural leadership skills and you're ready to take the next step, we'd love to hear from you.
