SUEZ Water– Pu0026T Alliance
Bolivar
SUEZ is a global leader in water and environmental services, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across the entire water cycle.
In Adelaide, SUEZ partners with SA Water through the Production and Treatment Alliance (P&T; Alliance), a collaborative model responsible for operating and maintaining critical water and wastewater infrastructure across metropolitan Adelaide. Together, the Alliance delivers reliable, high-quality services while supporting long-term community and environmental outcomes.
About the role A hands-on role bringing together wastewater operations, agriculture, logistics and environmental management.
Every day, Adelaide's wastewater treatment produces biosolids that become a valuable resource on South Australian farms. As our Biosolids and Residuals Management Officer, you'll make that happen. You'll coordinate biosolids management safely, compliantly and cost-effectively, from lagoon loading through to reuse.
This is a varied role combining field-based biosolids activities at Bolivar with visits to farms across regional South Australia and coordination with laboratories, customers, contractors and internal teams.
- Coordinate day-to-day sludge and biosolids activities, including contractors, transport, deliveries, collections and site interfaces.
- Monitor sludge lagoon loading against the desludging schedule and stockpile management
- Deliver the state-wide soil sampling program in line with EPA guidelines, working with the laboratories and reviewing results to support biosolid reuse
- Work directly with farmers and biosolids customers, to manage orders, approvals, sampling and biosolids collections
- Maintain accurate records,
compile monthly reports and prepare data for annual EPA and customer reporting
- Coordinate maintenance for equipment such as windrow turners, mobile pumps and the weighbridge and follow-up on equipment availability
- Support safe contractor activities by ensuring the appropriate permits and controls are in place before work starts.
- Process purchase requests and invoices, and track spend against the biosolids budget
- Support R&D; trials and improvement projects, and look for new ways to reuse biosolids and other residuals
About you You may come from wastewater or water operations, agriculture, logistics, environmental services, civil or mechanical trades, contractor coordination, resource recovery, or another hands-on operational environment[WM1] . You're organised, practical and comfortable keeping a lot of moving parts on track. You'll bring:
- A qualification in a relevant trade or discipline
- A proven record of delivering in an operations environment
- Experience coordinating contractors or suppliers
- Robust logistics, organisation and record-keeping skills, and you're confident with business systems
- Clear communication with customers, contractors and technical teams
- Interest in building your knowledge of environmental and soil management
- Willingness to travel across regional and metropolitan SA, with occasional interstate travel
- A current, unrestricted driver's licence
Experience in sludge or biosolids management, or an understanding of on-farm practices, would be a real advantage.
