About the Role
As we continue to expand our building performance and advisory capability, we're looking for a Building Performance Advisory Specialist to join our Digital Services team.
Reporting to the General Manager - Digital Services, you'll work directly with customers to turn building data, analytics, and technical insights into practical improvements across energy, asset, and operational performance.
This role combines building performance, energy optimisation, BMS expertise, and customer advisory. You'll lead technical performance discussions with customers, identify and prioritise improvement opportunities, develop optimisation roadmaps and support customers in making informed decisions about their buildings and assets.
You'll also remain technically hands-on, using BMS and analytics tools to investigate faults, review trends, assess control performance and implement approved optimisation changes. The role combines this practical technical work with analysis, planning, reporting and customer engagement.
If you enjoy understanding how buildings perform, solving complex technical problems, and turning your findings into clear, practical recommendations for customers, this is an opportunity to make a real impact across a diverse building portfolio.
What You'll Get
- Competitive salary package, mobile phone and laptop.
- Specialist role within our growing Digital Services business.
- Opportunity to work across diverse customer buildings and portfolios.
- Varied role combining technical, analytical and customer-facing work.
- Opportunity to influence energy performance, building optimisation, and asset strategy.
- Career development within one of Australia's leading building services providers.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in building performance, energy optimisation, BMS,
building services, facilities management or a closely related field.
- Strong BMS capability, including trend analysis, fault investigation, controls review, optimisation and tuning.
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, mechanical building services, controls and sensors.
- Experience with Fault Detection and Diagnostics (FDD), building analytics, IoT, and smart-building platforms.
- Experience developing and delivering energy optimisation initiatives and tracking performance outcomes.
- Ability to translate complex technical findings and data into clear recommendations, reports and business cases.
- Strong customer engagement, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience using asset condition, maintenance, and performance information to support lifecycle and renewal recommendations.
- Relevant engineering, trade, energy, building services, or asset management qualification, or substantial equivalent industry experience.
- Current Australian driver's licence and ability to travel regularly to customer sites across NSW, with occasional interstate travel.
- NABERS Assessor accreditation, energy auditing or measurement and verification experience is highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead customer building performance reviews, optimisation workshops, and technical discussions.
- Analyse BMS, analytics, energy, asset,
and operational data to identify performance issues and improvement opportunities.
- Develop practical energy optimisation strategies, action plans and improvement roadmaps.
- Investigate BMS faults, trends and control performance across common platforms.
- Undertake approved BMS setpoint, scheduling, tuning, and control-strategy changes.
- Establish practical baselines and track energy, cost, and performance outcomes.
- Develop asset lifecycle and renewal recommendations using condition, maintenance, and performance information.
- Prepare customer-facing performance reports, optimisation plans, business cases, and presentations.
- Coordinate technical requirements with regional operations, project managers, service teams, and specialist contractors.
- Define technical scopes and support the development of commercial opportunities arising from performance findings.
- Contribute to advisory methodologies, reports, optimisation tools, and service offerings across Digital Services.
