Business Development Manager, CUE-X Cue‑X is a specialist Australian consultancy Head quartered in Canberra, delivering Change, Data, Program Delivery and ICT transformation across the Federal Government. We’re looking for a well connected business development leader to shape and drive our Commonwealth growth strategy.
This is a hands on role for someone who already knows the Canberra market: who’s who, where programs are heading, and how work actually gets bought. You’ll have the backing of our leadership, delivery and talent teams, and the freedom to build something with your name on it.
About The Role You’ll own Cue‑X’s Federal Government growth agenda, from identifying where we should play through to winning and expanding the work.
You Will
- Develop and lead a clear Federal Government growth plan, identifying priority departments, agencies, programs and stakeholders.
- Build trusted relationships with senior decision-makers at EL2, Assistant Secretary and SES levels.
- Understand upcoming programs and procurement activities.
- Connect client needs with Cue‑X’s capabilities across change, data, program delivery and ICT transformation.
- Develop account plans and maintain a realistic, qualified pipeline.
- Lead opportunity qualification and capture, and coordinate proposals, tenders, presentations and commercial submissions.
- Build partnerships with SMEs, primes and technology partners, and identify practical panel, partnership and subcontracting routes to market.
- Work with our delivery and talent teams to make sure every opportunity can be resourced and delivered well.
- Turn initial engagements into broader, long-term client relationships.
- Represent Cue‑X across Canberra’s government and consulting community.
About You You’re active and credible in the Federal Government market today, and you know what it takes to win work,
You’ll Bring
- Experience across consulting, professional services, technology or transformation.
- A robust, current network across the Federal Government market.
- Solid knowledge of Commonwealth procurement, panels, AusTender, BuyICT and partner-led routes to market.
- Enough understanding of digital transformation, ICT delivery, organisational change, data and program delivery to hold credible client conversations.
- Experience developing account plans, managing a pipeline and contributing to proposals and tenders.
- Strong commercial judgement, with a clear grasp of revenue, margin and delivery risk.
- The drive and resilience to build a market presence from the ground up.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to work closely with leadership, delivery and talent teams.
