Some of life's best moments aren't rushed. They're found in a quiet conversation, a stroll in the sunshine, or sitting together and watching the world go by.
A gentleman living in an aged care home in Queens Park would enjoy spending time with a volunteer who appreciates a valuable chat and genuine companionship. He has a keen interest in fishing, rugby, current affairs, and keeping up with the news, and his many travels have given him plenty of stories and experiences to share.
You'll often find him enjoying time outdoors on the terrace or taking a walk, and he'd welcome someone to join him. Whether you're discussing the latest headlines, sharing travel stories, talking about sport, or simply enjoying each other's company, your visits could become a valued part of his week.
30 minute to 1-hour visits, weekly or fortnightly, between 10:00am and 5:00pm (avoiding lunchtime at 12:00pm). We're happy to work around your availability.
Your impact
Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
