Casual Fit Testers

We're recruiting on behalf of a Central West NSW business that helps employers keep their people safe and their workplaces compliant. They run respirator fit testing and silica awareness training for businesses managing airborne hazards, including mining, construction, exploration, healthcare and many more industries.

The role

We're looking for casual Fit Testers based around Central-West /Mid-Western NSW. You'll travel to client sites and test people on the respirators they wear at work, including P2/N95, half face and full face masks. Each test takes about 15 to 20 minutes, so you'll often fit masks for many people in a day.

- You'll follow the testing protocols, explain each step clearly, and record and report results accurately.
- You'll issue certificates, keep digital records, and pass outcomes and recommendations on to the right people.
- You'll work closely with the team, and you may help prepare documentation, guidelines or training materials.
- Hours are flexible. Most of the work is done onsite at our clients' workplaces, so you'll need to be comfortable travelling long distances.

You will also deliver silica awareness training to workplaces on site and online via Teams. We educate workplaces about the risks of silica exposure and what they need to do to work safely around silica dust. We strictly follow the 11 criteria outlined by Protected Work NSW for approved silica training.

Where you'll be based

Central West NSW. This is a regionally based business, and we'd love to hear from you if you live in or near the Central-West or Mid-Western areas of NSW

What you'll bring

- A reliable car, a current driver's licence and a willingness to travel to regional and remote sites
- Experience delivering training to a broad range of people




- The confidence to run onsite training and fit testing on your own (training and support provided)
- A track record of following detailed procedures and safety protocols, with a sharp eye for accuracy and compliance
- Clear communication, and the ability to explain testing steps to all kinds of people, including nervous ones
- Confidence with digital tools, online scheduling and electronic record keeping
- Good organisation and time management, so you can handle multiple sites, the paperwork and the follow ups
- The ability to use sound judgement and escalate issues when needed

Experience or training in workplace health and safety, medical sciences, allied health or a related field will help. Relevant certifications in fit testing, OHS, workplace training or similar disciplines will be highly regarded

You don't need to be a qualified fit tester to apply. If you already hold RESP-FIT accreditation, great. If not, we'll support the right person to get it through a development allowance, so a willingness to complete the training is what matters.

We're also happy to hear from recent graduates and people looking to build a career in fit testing.

What we offer

- Casual work paid at a competitive rate per hour, inclusive of casual loading, plus super. Your rate depends on your experience and accreditation, and the more experienced you are (especially if you are already an experienced Fit tester), the higher the rate we can offer.
