About the role

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Casual Pizza Chef to join our hospitality team at our Werribee South location over the Spring & summer period. This is a casual position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Pizza Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional pizza dishes that delight our guests and enhance their overall dining experience.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and cook high-quality pizzas using traditional and contemporary techniques
- Maintain consistency in portion sizes, presentation and flavour profiles across all pizza offerings
- Operate and maintain pizza ovens and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Follow all food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure the highest standards of food preparation
- Work efficiently during service periods to meet customer orders and maintain kitchen workflow
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff and front-of-house team to ensure seamless service delivery




- Contribute to menu development and suggest innovative pizza creations when appropriate
- Maintain a clean and organised workstation throughout service
- Respond positively to feedback and continuously improve culinary skills and techniques

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Pizza Chef or similar culinary role within a hospitality or restaurant setting
- Demonstrable knowledge of pizza-making techniques, dough preparation and flavour combinations
- Robust understanding of food safety, hygiene regulations and kitchen protocols
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen and service staff
- Desirable: experience with wood-fired ovens or Italian cuisine

What we offer We offer a casual position offering mostly weekend shifts 9-5 and also Mon & Tues 9-5 through Dec & Jan. There is flexibility around these hours and some additional hours may be possible.
