MACKAY CRICKET ASSOCIATION INC. Trading as HARRUP PARK COUNTRY CLUB is looking for a full-time Chefs and Cooks for their busy bistro.

Harrup Park, located in Mackay, Queensland, is a premier sporting and entertainment venue renowned for its vibrant community atmosphere and diverse offerings. The complex features the Great Barrier Reef Arena, a world-class facility hosting major sporting events, including international cricket and AFL matches.

The venue boasts multiple dining options, such as The Bistro and Boundary Cafe, where patrons enjoy a variety of culinary delights. The Bistro offers a relaxed, family-friendly environment with a menu ranging from classic Australian dishes to contemporary Italian and Spanish-inspired cuisine.

To be considered for the role you need to have a relevant industry qualification and at least 3 years' experience in a similar position.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

-Must display excellent prep, cooking and plating skills

-Experience with Greek or Mediterranean cuisine highly desirable

-Strong emphasis on quality and consistency of dishes

-Demonstrate a keen Interest in growing food trends and techniques





-Ability to contribute to menu planning, food cost estimation and food cost control

-Work with the management team on food preparation and seasonal menu planning

-Stock ordering

-Labour cost control and assist the owners with rostering

-A sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and WHS and able to explain and enforce

-Immaculate presentation and grooming

-Ability to handle large service numbers

-Above average customer care and service skills

-Training of junior team members on cooking techniques and procedures

-Assist with staff hiring and training

-Experience on grill and pan section highly desirable

-Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies

-Discuss customer requirements and request with the frost on house team

-Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
