We are a busy Thai restaurant in Echuca looking for experienced chefs to join the team.
As a chef, you will be working alongside a team of talented chefs who are committed to delivering consistently high standards in food quality and presentation. This role is ideal for someone looking to take the next step in their culinary career, with opportunities for growth and development.
Qualifications/ Specifications
- Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Asian Cookery
- Must have at least 1 year of relevant experience in Asian cuisine
- Valuable understanding of kitchen operations, food safety and cost control
Duties:
- Prepare, cook, and properly present food for regular service.
- Collaborate with the other chefs and owner to plan and develop recipes and menus,
considering factors such as seasonal availability of ingredients, the likely number of customers, portion size and final menu price.
- Prepare meals in line with agreed recipes.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels to reduce wastage.
- Order food and other supplies needed.
- Train staff as necessary utilising both on the job training techniques and when required send staff on approved external relevant training.
- Ensure all OHS requirements are complied with by all staff in the kitchen.
- Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen are followed.
