ATV Securities Pty Ltd T/A Milan Restaurant operates a restaurant and hospitality venue in Main Beach, QLD 4217. The business provides a welcoming dining environment offering a range of quality meals and hospitality services. The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, menu planning and maintaining kitchen standards. This role is suited to a culinary professional who can work efficiently while maintaining consistent food quality, presentation and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
•Plan and develop menus while estimating ingredient quantities and monitoring food and labour costs.
•Maintain consistent standards of food preparation, cooking quality and presentation across all dishes.
•Coordinate with management, kitchen personnel and front-of-house staff to meet daily food service requirements.
•Provide direction to kitchen team members and demonstrate appropriate cooking and food preparation methods.
•Prepare, cook and present a variety of dishes according to recipes and established quality standards.
•Ensure all kitchen activities comply with applicable food hygiene, safety and sanitation requirements.
•Support the recruitment, induction and training of kitchen staff when required.
•Ensure food products are correctly stored, preserved and frozen to maintain freshness and reduce wastage.
•Monitor day-to-day kitchen activities and organise workflow to support efficient and timely meal service.
Qualifications & Experience
•AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related field.
•Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a commercial kitchen or food service environment
•Sound understanding of food safety requirements and commercial kitchen procedures.
•Strong communication, teamwork, leadership and time-management skills.
•Demonstrated passion for cooking and commitment to maintaining food quality standards.
•Ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
