Some sales roles hand you a territory and a renewal list. This one hands you a blank map of Canberra and asks you to fill it.

We are working with a global consultancy for a senior relationship builder to win the first major engagements with Commonwealth departments and agencies that are new to the business. You will decide where to play, earn a seat at the table with senior executives early, and turn real agency priorities into programs of work that get funded.

What you will be doing

- Choosing priority departments and agencies and building an entry plan for each, shaped by their reform agenda, funding cycle and buying routes
- Getting into strategic conversations with Secretaries, Deputy Secretaries, CIOs, CFOs, CDOs and Chief AI Officers well before anything is put to market
- Framing opportunities around policy and service outcomes, then bringing in the right specialists to design the answer
- Running pursuits end to end: qualification, solution and commercial strategy, bid leadership, negotiation and contract




- Pulling together expertise from across a large organisation, along with partners and Australian SMEs, into one coherent offer
- Keeping a disciplined, honest pipeline that leadership can forecast from

What you bring

- A track record of opening Commonwealth accounts that were recent to your employer, with named wins you can talk through
- Long-standing senior relationships across several APS portfolios
- Experience selling multi-year transformation, integration, data, cloud, cyber or managed-services programs
- Confident command of Commonwealth buying: panels, approaches to market, evaluation and probity
- The influence to mobilise a large, matrixed organisation behind your pursuits
- A credible point of view on how AI, data and modern platforms are changing public service delivery
- Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain and hold a security clearance (current Baseline or NV1 is a plus)
