We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a large, complex ICT environment in Brisbane on a contract through to 30 June 2027.

This is a hands-on engineering role focused heavily on AWS, working across both operational support and technical project delivery. You’ll be responsible for designing, building, maintaining and troubleshooting cloud services, automation and associated hybrid-cloud infrastructure.

What you’ll be doing

- Design, build, configure and support secure and scalable AWS and hybrid-cloud environments
- Provide hands-on support across EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, AWS Organizations and IAM
- Troubleshoot incidents, service requests, performance issues and technical defects
- Develop infrastructure automation and serverless solutions
- Work with Terraform, PowerShell, Python, Lambda and SQS
- Monitor cloud service health, capacity, performance, security and lifecycle requirements
- Contribute to technical planning, solution decisions, implementation activities and risk management
- Work closely with infrastructure specialists and multidisciplinary project teams
- Maintain clear and accurate technical documentation

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally bring:

- Strong recent, hands-on AWS engineering and support experience




- Experience across EC2, S3, EBS, VPC, AWS Organizations and IAM
- Infrastructure-as-code / automation experience using Terraform
- Scripting capability with PowerShell and/or Python
- Experience with serverless AWS technologies including Lambda and SQS
- Strong troubleshooting skills across AWS and hybrid-cloud environments
- Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD and Windows Server 2016/2019
- Working knowledge of the Australian Government Information Security Manual (ISM)

Nice to have

- AWS database experience across RDS, Aurora and DynamoDB
- Linux administration
- AWS administration certification
- Exchange / Exchange Online experience
- Queensland Government experience
- Experience within complex enterprise ICT environments
