Cloud Security Engineer | AWS | Python | Automation

Are you a software engineer with a passion for cloud security? Looking to build security solutions that make a genuine impact across a large-scale technology environment?

We’re looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to join a specialist team focused on strengthening cloud security through engineering, automation and scalable security capabilities.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll combine your AWS and development experience with a security mindset to build solutions that help development teams deliver secure applications from design through to deployment.

You’ll work closely with cloud, cyber security and engineering teams, helping embed security into everyday development practices rather than treating it as an afterthought.

What you’ll be doing

- Build and automate security solutions across AWS and the wider developer ecosystem.
- Develop code, primarily using Python, to automate cloud and security capabilities.
- Implement security guardrails that help development teams build and deploy applications securely.
- Contribute to capabilities across vulnerability management, detection engineering, incident response, identity and access management (IAM), and network security.
- Work with cyber security teams to identify weaknesses, understand threats and implement effective remediation.
- Provide technical guidance to development teams on cloud security principles and best practices.
- Influence technical decisions, improve operational processes and help drive security at scale.

What we’re looking for

- Experience developing software using languages such as Python,



including writing tests to validate your code.
- Strong experience with AWS, including designing and deploying scalable, reliable and secure applications.
- A solid understanding of cloud networking and core internet protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS and HTTP.
- Experience or a genuine interest in security domains such as vulnerability management, incident response, detection engineering and IAM.
- Strong technical documentation, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A proactive mindset, with the ability to work independently, solve problems and continually improve existing solutions.
