About the Position

We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist all rounder who doesn’t’ mind rolling their sleeves up and getting to work where required. The role will be based out of Southern department, which is in Polo Flats, just outside of Cooma.

As no two days look the same, we are after an experienced CNC Mill and CNC Lathe machinist, who is skilled in both Mastercam and Solidworks programs. Working within a busy workshop environment, you will be responsible for reading engineering drawings, maintaining high-quality standards, carrying out machine setups, and performing inspections using precision measuring equipment.

Experience with manual machining, assembly work, or general workshop operations will be highly regarded. We will sponsor the successful candidate with the Regional Visa.

Role Responsibilities

- Ability to write your own CNC Programs for milling jobs for small and very large machines.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and plan your job using drawings and job card.
- Ensure you fully understand instructions and requirements of a job, including machining standards, tolerances, surface finishes, etc.




- Organise your work area and any job materials in order to facilitate safe and efficient machining.
- Use your trade and other relevant training to maximize the accuracy, quality, conformity and efficiency of each job.
- Contribute towards company’s objectives including zero safety incidents, zero warranty claims and zero re-work.
- Plan jobs to ensure that you have the relevant materials and tools available for the current and next job to minimise spindle down time.
- Ensure the accuracy of a job through quality inspections.
- Participate in team discussions and contribute to a safe, efficient and positive workplace
- Maintain a positive attitude and have mutual respect within your team.

Qualifications & Experience:

- Work experience with proven track in the similar role is a must.
- Experience in CNC machine programming, setting and operation.
- FANUC and Heidenhain controller experience advantageous.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings & specifications.
- Ability to select appropriate equipment, consumables, tools, and understand sequencing of jobs.
- Ability to measure jobs and complete dimensional inspection reports.
- Have a high focus on safety.
- Have a positive attitude, willing to learn and can-do attitude.
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and police checks.

Pay: $32.90 – $53.99 per hour
