About The Role

We're seeking a Commercial Manager to provide strategic commercial and contractual leadership across our project portfolio and broader business, you will partner closely with operational leaders, project teams and business stakeholders to manage commercial risk, support project delivery and enhance business performance.

Hybrid role based in our Hawthorn head office with travel to VIC project sites, this position offers the opportunity to work across major infrastructure, transport, aviation, water and renewable energy projects, while supporting pre-contracts activities and providing commercial expertise to the wider VIC/SA/TAS business.

Key Responsibilities

- Supporting the commercial management of major infrastructure and construction projects
- Advising project teams on contract interpretation, risk management and commercial strategy
- Reviewing and negotiating client, subcontractor and supplier agreements
- Supporting contract administration, claims, variations and dispute resolution activities
- Identifying and mitigating commercial risks throughout project lifecycles
- Assisting BMD's Pre-Contracts and Bid Teams with tender reviews, contract assessments and commercial submissions




- Working collaboratively with operational and senior leadership teams to drive positive commercial outcomes

About You

- Experience in a Commercial Manager, Contracts Manager, Senior Commercial Advisor or similar role
- Construction, infrastructure, engineering or project delivery experience
- Strong understanding of commercial risk management and contract administration
- Experience reviewing and negotiating complex contracts
- Legal qualifications or legal experience will be highly regarded
- Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to commercial problem-solving
