A coastal lifestyle

Set on Queensland’s east coast, this fast-growing regional centre offers a mix of coastal, rural and city living. Enjoy tropical summers, sunny skies for much of the year, island escapes, golden beaches, a blue river and a lush rainforest hinterland.

The region has a buoyant economy, a strong range of schools and education providers, and a less congested pace than a capital city. Brisbane is around an hour away by air.

The opportunity

You’ll provide high-quality anaesthesia services and work closely with the Clinical Director and multidisciplinary team. The department supports orthopaedic, trauma, general, gynaecological, obstetric, paediatric, ENT, dental, ECT and endoscopic procedures, as well as a pre-assessment clinic, acute pain service and obstetric epidural service. The team also supports trauma and cardiac arrest responses.

The service has seven operating theatres, 14 recovery bays and a pre-theatre holding area. As an accredited training facility,



it supports ANZCA and JCCA trainees, along with junior medical staff. You’ll contribute to teaching, patient safety, audit, research and service planning.

Remuneration and benefits

Total remuneration is up to $520K, with benefits including:

- 12.75% employer superannuation
- Professional Development Allowance of $21,500 per year and 3.6 weeks’ Professional Development Leave

About you

You’ll hold FANZCA or have been assessed by ANZCA as substantially comparable. You’ll bring recent experience across a broad range of anaesthesia, including emergency and paediatric cases, and the ability to contribute to a collaborative team and support high-quality patient care.
