About us
Business Kitz is a fast-growing Australian SaaS company transforming how businesses manage legal, HR and operational compliance.
Founded over a decade ago, we built our reputation on legal and compliance content developed by lawyers from top tier and leading Australian firms. Over the past few years, we have rebuilt the business as a digital platform that brings a business's documents, people, obligations and key dates together in one place. Today we are the compliance and data core that small and medium businesses run on, supported by partnerships with leading industry peak bodies nationally.
With our digital transition complete, we are entering a phase of rapid growth. Our executive team brings senior talent from major Australian organisations, and we are building a partner ecosystem with leading organisations across banking, insurance and payments. Our goal is to become the system of record for small and medium businesses, first in Australia and then internationally.
Business Kitz is an international group with Australian and international subsidiaries, including Legal Kitz Pty Ltd, our Australian incorporated legal practice, and a team spanning Australia and overseas.
The role
We are appointing a senior corporate and commercial lawyer as Corporate Counsel and Company Secretary to the Group. You will advise the founders and executive team on the matters that shape the Group's growth: governance across our Australian and international entities, investor relations and capital raising, strategic partnerships and international expansion.
Working alongside Legal Kitz and our external advisers, you will bring structure, judgement and pace to a business at a significant stage of growth.
Key responsibilities
- Governance: overseeing corporate governance and company secretarial matters across the Group's Australian and international entities, including board and shareholder matters, resolutions, share issues and statutory records
- Investors and capital: managing shareholder and investor communications, and supporting capital raising and corporate transactions from documentation and due diligence through to completion
- Strategic partnerships: supporting negotiations with industry peak bodies, government bodies and commercial partners, including leading Australian banks, insurers and payment providers
- Commercial: drafting, reviewing and negotiating customer, SaaS, supplier and partnership agreements
- International expansion: preparing the Group for cross-jurisdictional operations, including corporate, compliance and tax matters, in coordination with external legal and tax advisers
- People: overseeing employment and contractor arrangements, intellectual property and confidentiality across our Australian and international team
- Platform and regulatory: overseeing the core company documents within the Business Kitz platform, and monitoring employment and regulatory developments so the Group's documents and processes remain current

- A track record of negotiating strategic partnerships with major counterparties, such as financial institutions, insurers or government bodies

- Able to travel occasionally within Australia and overseas
What we offer
- A senior role at the centre of the Group's growth, working directly with the founders, investors and strategic partners
