About the role

Delivery Driver / Factory General Hand role involving loading and unloading of delivery vehicles, delivering and placing furniture at installation sites, collection of components to finishing trades, elementary assembly of commercial furniture, forklift and hand unloading of containers, vehicle maintenance, warehouse and factory cleaning, warranty and rectification work, stock movement, and rubbish clean up.

Key responsibilities

- Loading of delivery vehicles (truck, van, caddy, sub-contract vehicles) to ensure goods are securely packed

- Delivering, unloading and placing furniture at installation sites, and completing delivery paperwork for the Warehouse Coordinator

- Delivery and collection of components and furniture to finishing trades (upholsters, powder coaters, polishers etc)

- Elementary assembly of commercial furniture

- Hand and forklift unloading of containers

- Maintenance of vehicles – cleaning inside and outside on a regular basis in conjunction with other staff; fuelling vehicles and checking tyre pressures,



oil and water levels and tread wear; liaising with the Warehouse Coordinator regarding the servicing of vehicles

- Cleaning and assistance in organising of the warehouse and factory (in particular own working, assembly area and bench)

- Warranty and rectification work

- Movement of stock

- Rubbish clean up

About you

- Excellent customer service and communication skills

- Demonstrated furniture handling skills

- Proven time management skills, and the ability to multi-task

- Physically fit and able to undertake manual and lifting work

- Proficiency in using pallet jacks, palletising and wrapping stock

- Current forklift ticket

- Current LR (Light Rigid) vehicle licence or MR licence
- The ability to work well with others

- Confident ability using power tools (drills and other small tools)

- Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
