Primary objective

Lead and manage LDC’s commercial, property, strategy and communications functions to deliver strategic and commercial outcomes. Provide high-level commercial advice, manage complex land transactions and contractual negotiations, and oversee asset management, business development, strategic planning, marketing and communications activities. Support the Executive

Director Operations in delivering LDC’s strategic priorities and operational objectives.

Context statement The Land Development Corporation (LDC) is a Government Business Division responsible for facilitating strategic land, property and development outcomes across the Northern Territory.

Key duties and responsibilities

- Lead LDC’s commercial, property, strategy and communications functions to achieve business objectives.
- Support development and implementation of LDC’s strategic plans, commercial strategies and business development initiatives.
- Manage commercial transactions,



including land sales, leases, tenure arrangements and contractual negotiations, and support the Executive Director on significant commercial matters.
- Oversee LDC’s property and asset portfolio, including facilities management, leasing and commercial performance.
- Provide high-level strategic and commercial advice, including ministerial briefings, submissions and reports.
- Direct LDC’s marketing, communications and stakeholder engagement activities to support business objectives.
- Lead and develop staff, manage key stakeholder relationships and ensure timely delivery of business outcomes.

Selection criteria

Essential

- Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to establish effective relationships with government, industry and key stakeholders.
- Strong knowledge of commercial, land and property development processes, including relevant legislation, contractual arrangements, asset management and commercial transactions.
- Demonstrated experience in managing commercial negotiations, contracts, property transactions and associated legal and financial processes.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and business planning, provide high-level commercial advice and prepare complex submissions, reports and briefings.
- Proven leadership and management capabilities, including the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, establish priorities,

improve business processes and deliver outcomes within required timeframes.

- Demonstrated sound judgement, commercial acumen, initiative and accountability, with the ability to operate effectively in a complex government or commercial environment.

Desirable

- Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce, property, law or a related discipline.
- Experience in a government business, commercial property or land development setting.
