Are you looking to further refine your Veterinary skills and knowledge in emergency and critical care, or move towards specialisation? SASH Gold Coast is excited to offer a 12-month ECC Specialty Internship for the right candidate
About SASH:
The Small Animal Specialist Hospital (SASH) is the largest, privately owned network of veterinary hospitals in the Southern Hemisphere, offering multi-disciplinary specialist and emergency services across multiple locations in New South Wales, South Australia and Queensland. At SASH, we are committed to providing exceptional care and service to pets, their families, and the veterinary community. This is an exciting chance for you to be part of the next group of Interns in our current, purpose-built hospital, SASH Gold Coast.
The Internship:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic veterinarian to join our team for a 12-month Specialty Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Internship at our multidisciplinary veterinary referral hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a veterinarian looking to develop their knowledge, clinical skills and confidence in emergency medicine and critical care within a supportive, cooperative and learning-focused environment.
Working alongside experienced ER clinicians and ECC specialists in addition to our wonderful, highly skilled nursing team including ECC specialist nurses, you will gain exposure to a diverse and challenging caseload, including emergency presentations, complex medical cases and critically ill patients.
Our hospital embraces a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, with close collaboration between Emergency and Critical Care and other specialty services.
You will have the opportunity to learn from different disciplines, contribute to shared clinical decision-making and appreciate the value of an integrated approach to patient management.
SASH Gold Coast offers a state-of-the-art facility with purpose-built emergency room and intensive care unit, in addition to viscoelastic testing, high-quality point-of-care ultrasound, an on-site blood bank, and multiple Servo mechanical ventilators.
Interns will have the opportunity to be certified as recover rescuers as we have three Recover certified CPR instructors on our team. Clinical shifts will be roughly split 50/50 between our emergency room and our intensive care unit.
Sole charge is not required as part of this program. You will, however, be encouraged to have primary case responsibility to maximize learning and growth during the program. You will also be able to participate in journal club and other didactic opportunities offered both onsite and across the SASH network. This is a full-time, 12-month position with an expected start date early 2026.
