About The Role An opportunity has arisen to join our Emergency Operations & Response team, based at Glendenning Field Service Centre and working across the Endeavour Energy network.
As an Emergency Operations & Response Specialist, you will be part of an integrated first-response and repair capability working closely with the Control Room. You will attend network and customer faults, assess risk, make sites safe, diagnose complex issues and, where competency and risk allow, complete the switching, repair and restoration work needed to return supply safely and efficiently.
This is a genuine step-up opportunity for experienced electrical tradespeople who want greater ownership of their work. Operating as a field-based extension of Network Control, you will make informed decisions in dynamic environments,
work autonomously or form part of a two-person or EWP crew, and coordinate with emergency services, customers and field teams when incidents escalate.
The role spans HV, LV, street lighting and service networks, combining advanced fault finding, complex repairs, emergency switching, inspections and interruptible work. You will use systems such as ADMS and smart-meter data to resolve faults, reduce repeat issues and keep pace with changing network standards, renewable technologies and industry best practice. The position is inherently mobile and requires rotating shiftwork, including weekends and public holidays.
Benefits
- Varied, fast-paced fault and emergency work across the network
- End-to-end job ownership from first attendance and diagnosis through to repair and restoration
- Autonomy to make field decisions within your competency and authorisations
- Opportunities to build advanced fault-finding, switching, live-work and emerging-technology capability
- A structured competency pathway with technical development and future career opportunities
- Work as a single responder or combine into two-person and EWP repair crews as demand changes
- Rotating shift roster with applicable shift allowances and penalty rates.
- Start & finish from home options over the shift pattern.
About You You are an experienced electrical tradesperson who is ready to step up,
take control of your work and deliver safe outcomes in situations where priorities can change quickly. To be considered, you will meet the following essential requirements:
- Electrical Trade Qualification Certificate III Electrotechnology or equivalent
- Proven post-trade experience in the electrical distribution industry, including overhead and underground networks and customer installations
- Demonstrated experience in fault response, restoration and complex HV/LV fault diagnosis or repair
- Strong safety focus and the ability to assess risk and make sound decisions in high-risk, changing environments
- Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and take ownership through to completion or effective escalation
- Strong communication skills for working with the Control Room, customers, crews, emergency services and other stakeholders
- Current HR class driver licence, White Card and EWP licence for boom lengths of 11 metres or more
Highly Desirable
- DN1/DN2 switching authorisations
- Live-line qualifications and experience
