The role

As an Electronic Instrument Trades Worker you will:

· Install, modify and commission electronic instruments, control systems and associated field equipment, following site specifications, drawings and applicable Australian Standards

· Test and inspect instruments, control equipment and wiring to locate and diagnose faults, using appropriate test and measurement equipment

· Carry out scheduled maintenance, repairs and calibration, replacing or rewiring faulty components and returning systems to full service

· Apply sound knowledge of electrical, electronic and mechanical principles when setting up, adjusting and proving equipment performance after installation or repair

· Reassemble, test-run and fine-tune equipment, recording results and completing accurate job, test and compliance documentation

· Advise customers and site personnel on correct operating procedures to help prevent faults and downtime

· Work safely at all times, complying with WHS requirements, site inductions, licensing conditions and company procedures

· Work with and support other tradespeople, apprentices and field staff on larger installation and maintenance projects

What you will bring

· AQF Certificate III in Electronics and Communications (or Instrumentation / Electrotechnology) or an equivalent trade qualification, OR at least three years' directly relevant experience

· Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience installing, testing and maintaining electronic equipment,



instruments or control systems

· Current Queensland electrical licence or registration as required for the work performed

· Strong fault-finding skills and confident use of multimeters, test equipment and calibration tools

· Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics and technical specifications

· Current Australian driver's licence and White Card, with willingness to obtain site-specific tickets

· Good verbal and written English, with the ability to complete clear job records

· Right to work in Australia

Equipment and work environment

You will use electronic test and measurement equipment (multimeters, loop calibrators, insulation and continuity testers), hand and power tools, technical drawings and specifications, and mobile devices with job-management software. Work is a mix of on-site field work at customer premises and project sites, with team support and supervision. Steel-cap safety boots and appropriate PPE are required on site, and a neat, professional presentation is expected at customer premises.
