About Us

JFT Japan Foods Trading Pty. Ltd. is one of Victoria’s longest-established and largest Japanese food importers and distributors, based in Rowville.

As part of our continued growth, we are expanding our operations to include a new café and central kitchen. We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and hands-on All-Rounder who can hit the ground running and contribute to both operations from day one.

We are looking for a reliable team member with strong barista skills, hospitality experience, and a willingness to assist with food preparation and central kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare high-quality coffee and beverages efficiently and consistently.
- Deliver excellent customer service and maintain a welcoming café environment.
- Assist with café setup, equipment preparation, stock organisation, and daily operations.
- Assist with food preparation, cooking, portioning, packing, and other central kitchen duties as required.
- Follow food safety procedures and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Assist with stock handling, storage, and workspace organisation.
- Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibly support café and central kitchen operations according to business needs.

Working Hours: 3–5 days per week, Monday to Friday, between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Requirements

- Minimum one year of hospitality experience, with strong barista skills and customer service experience.




- Previous food preparation or kitchen experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and contribute from day one.
- Intermediate conversational English.
- Must hold a valid Australian RSA certificate.
- Must hold a Food Safety Handler certificate.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
- Reliable, flexible, and willing to perform a variety of duties across café and central kitchen operations.
- Availability to work 3–5 days per week, Monday to Friday, between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm.
- Long-term commitment preferred, ideally for at least one year.
- Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with full working rights in Australia.
- Japanese language skills and an interest in Japanese food and culture are advantageous but not essential.
