High Ground Cafe is looking for an experienced, reliable and passionate Chef to join our friendly kitchen team.

Located in the busy Dandenong South industrial precinct, our café serves local businesses, factory workers and corporate customers.

We are seeking a Chef who is confident in preparing delicious breakfast and lunch meals while also managing corporate catering and large-volume food orders.

We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time employment.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook quality breakfast and lunch meals.
- Manage daily food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Prepare corporate catering orders, including sandwiches, wraps, salads, hot meals and platters.
- Handle bulk food preparation for office meetings, factory lunches and business events.
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Assist with menu development and daily specials.
- Monitor stock, food costs and ingredient ordering.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Work efficiently during busy service periods.

Skills & Experience Required




- Previous experience as a Chef in a commercial café, restaurant or catering kitchen.
- Strong breakfast and lunch cooking skills.
- Experience in corporate catering and bulk food preparation is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and manage kitchen responsibilities.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene.
- Excellent time-management and organisational skills.
- Reliable, hardworking and a valuable team player.
- Relevant cookery qualifications are an advantage.
