About the role

Eckhold Technologies is seeking an experienced Mining Systems & Communications Technician to support communications and mining technology systems at a mine site just outside Blackwater.

This is a hands-on field role involving installation, configuration, maintenance and fault-finding across site technology and communications infrastructure. You’ll work independently, liaise with our customer and draw on support from the Eckhold Technologies team.

The role is expected to involve approximately 45–48 paid hours per week, including paid travel time. You’ll drive to site on Monday morning and drive home on Thursday afternoon. Overtime is expected to be uncommon to support fatigue management. Any overtime worked is paid at the same standard hourly rate, with superannuation paid on top.

What you’ll do

- Install, configure, test and maintain communications and mining technology equipment.

- Diagnose and resolve faults across equipment, networks and supporting infrastructure.

- Provide technical support and communicate clearly with site personnel.

- Keep accurate service reports, job records and equipment documentation.

- Complete risk assessments and follow site safety and isolation procedures.

- Plan and carry out work safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to site operations.

What you’ll bring

- At least three years’ experience in a similar technical field role.

- Qualifications in electronics, communications, IT or a related discipline.

- Practical experience with communications networks and technology systems.





- Strong troubleshooting skills and a methodical approach to finding faults.

- The ability to manage your work independently and recognise when to seek support.

- Transparent communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.

- A current driver’s licence and willingness to undertake regular DIDO travel.

- A strong commitment to safety, quality and reliable service.

Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:
- Private LTE networks and connected devices.

- Digital two-way radio systems.

- Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless networks.

- Fleet management systems.

- Collision avoidance systems.

- Automotive electrical systems.

Current Standard 11, Coal Board Medical, working at heights and relevant elevated work platform credentials will also be highly regarded. Applicants must be able to meet site medical requirements, including drug and alcohol screening.
