Amma’s Care Support Services | Immediate Start Opportunities
We are seeking experienced, reliable and engaging Female Mental Health Support Workers to support NDIS participants in Bracken Ridge and Redcliffe. Applicants living in these areas, nearby suburbs, or who can reliably travel to these locations are encouraged to apply.
Mental health support experience is mandatory. We need workers who can build trust, engage participants in meaningful conversation and provide calm, consistent support during periods of distress.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate III in Individual Support — required.
- Demonstrated mental health support experience, including supporting people with psychosocial disability or complex mental health support needs. General care experience alone is not sufficient.
- Practical de-escalation and behavioural support experience, including recognising early signs of distress, following behaviour support plans and using appropriate escalation procedures.
- Strong communication and engagement skills, including clear spoken and written English, attentive listening and the ability to build positive, professional relationships.
- A valid Australian driver licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Required Availability
Applicants must be available for 9:00 am–5:00 pm shifts on weekdays and weekends, as well as complete sleepover shifts. You must be able to cover the full rostered sleepover shift, including any scheduled evening and morning support. Exact start and finish times will be discussed during screening.
About the Role
You will support participants with daily routines, community access, social engagement, household tasks and personal care where required. We are looking for workers who are patient, approachable and actively engaged throughout their shifts. You must follow individual support and behaviour support plans, maintain qualified boundaries, complete accurate shift notes and incident reports, and communicate promptly with the support team.
Rostering and Allocation of Hours
The number of hours allocated will be based on demonstrated performance, reliability and suitability for the participant’s support needs, alongside your agreed availability and service requirements. Rostering will remain consistent with your employment agreement and applicable award entitlements.
Commencement
Start as soon as possible, subject to screening, compliance clearance and induction.
