Our client is a Federal Government-backed specialist finance provider for farmers and farm-related small businesses. They offer loan programs designed to encourage growth, investment and resilience in Australia's regional communities.
They are currently seeking a capable and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join their team. This role will require you to work in the Orange office, Monday to Wednesday of each week. The position is currently available for a period of 7 months.
This is a great opportunity to apply your financial and administrative skills in a supportive team environment while contributing to the delivery of important financial services. Formal accountant qualifications/experience is not essential – suitably skilled applicants from a banking or finance background could be a suitable fit for this role. A key focus of the role will be based on loan management system transactions and reporting.
The opportunity
Working closely with the Finance Manager and the broader Finance team, you will provide support across a range of financial operations, including loan management and general financial administration.
Your responsibilities will include
- Processing transactions and preparing reports within the Loan Management System.
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Completing general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assisting with end-of-month and end-of-year reporting.
- Supporting asset management and financial policy development and review.
- Responding to internal and external enquiries in a timely and skilled manner.
- Maintaining accurate records, identifying discrepancies and ensuring work is completed within required timeframes.
What we’re looking for
You will be a proactive and organised finance professional who takes pride in accuracy, customer service and delivering quality outcomes.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in finance, accounting, banking or transactional management.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping skills.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence using financial systems and computer applications; experience with TechnologyOne or similar systems will be highly regarded.
- The ability to manage deadlines, exercise sound judgement and work both independently and collaboratively.
- A skilled and customer-focused approach when dealing with stakeholders.
Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
Important eligibility requirements
Applicants must have permanent working rights in Australia and be willing to undergo the required pre-employment screening, including identity, criminal history, financial background and Australian Government security vetting checks.
Ready to take the next step?
If you have a background in finance and enjoy working in a collaborative environment where accuracy, service and sound judgement matter, we would love to hear from you.
