Your opportunity:

You'll be joining an Australian business with an expanding finance function at a pivotal point of their growth on a global basis.

You'll work closely with an approachable CFO who is known for being calm, patient and approachable. The finance team is continuing to grow, and the environment is collaborative and down-to-earth, without unnecessary hierarchy.

You'll take ownership of day-to-day finance activities while getting the opportunity to broaden your skills across month-end, reporting and other areas of accounting.

The initial focus will be AP, AR and reconciliations, so you'll need a solid grounding in these areas. Over time, there's scope to get involved in BAS, GST, payroll-related tasks and broader accounting responsibilities as you develop.

The role is office-based, Monday to Friday, generally 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with some flexibility around start and finish times.

What you'll be doing:

It's a varied, hands-on position where you'll need to be comfortable managing the day-to-day workload while also being willing to pitch in and help the wider team.

- Processing around 30-40 supplier invoices a day and managing accounts payable.
- Assisting with supplier payment runs, supplier enquiries and account reconciliations.
- Supporting accounts receivable, including customer invoicing, payment allocations and following up outstanding payments.
- Completing daily bank reconciliations and reconciling three company credit cards.
- Assisting with cash flow monitoring and customer account setups.
- Supporting month-end, including journals, accruals, general ledger maintenance and reconciliations.

- Assisting with financial reporting and providing support across the finance team when needed.
- Developing your skills in areas such as BAS, GST and payroll as training is provided.

Who you are:

Ideally, you'll have a minimum of 4 years' experience in a Finance Officer or Accounts Officer role, with exposure to both AP and AR.

You don't need to know everything from day one. The significant thing is that you've got a solid foundation, take pride in getting things right and are keen to keep developing.

You'll also bring

- Confidence with reconciliations and general accounting processes.
- CPA / CA qualification or studying is advantageous but not a deal breaker
- Experience using accounting systems and intermediate Excel skills.
- Good organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A reliable, practical approach and the confidence to ask questions when you need to.
- A team-oriented attitude, with the ability to work independently when required.
