Are you a school student, recent school leaver, or aspiring tradesperson who enjoys practical, hands-on work and wants to build a career in engineering?

Skillset is seeking applications for a Fitter Apprentice in Bathurst, NSW, commencing in January 2027. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience, earn a wage, and complete a Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade over four years.

Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you'll learn valuable mechanical skills and gain exposure to a modern manufacturing workplace while building a nationally recognised trade qualification.

What You'll Be Doing

- Assist with the maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment
- Help identify and troubleshoot mechanical faults
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals
- Assist with preventative maintenance and equipment inspections
- Follow workplace safety procedures and industry best practices

Who We're Looking For This opportunity would suit someone who:

- Enjoys practical, hands-on work
- Has an interest in machinery, tools, engineering, automotive or mechanical trades
- Is reliable, motivated and eager to learn
- Has good problem-solving skills and attention to detail




- Works well within a team environment
- Is willing to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening
- Is available to commence in January 2027

Students who have studied practical subjects such as Metalwork, Industrial Technology, Engineering Studies, Automotive, Construction or Woodwork are encouraged to apply. No previous industry experience is required. We're looking for the right attitude and willingness to learn.
