About the Organisation

Our client is a well established not for profit organisation operating within the education sector. With a strong focus on supporting its people and broader community, the organisation is seeking an experienced WH&S; Coordinator to provide hands on support across workplace health and safety for the remainder of the year.

About the Role

Working closely with key internal stakeholders, the WH&S; Coordinator will support the organisation in maintaining a safe, compliant and proactive workplace.

This is a hands on coordination role suited to someone who can quickly step into an established workplace, manage competing priorities and provide practical WH&S; support across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Coordinating day to day WH&S; activities, documentation and administration

- Maintaining WH&S; registers, records, policies and procedures

- Supporting incident reporting, investigations and follow up actions

- Monitoring hazards, risks and corrective actions to ensure appropriate resolution

- Assisting with risk assessments and workplace safety initiatives

- Supporting WH&S; compliance requirements and continuous improvement activities

- Preparing reports and maintaining accurate safety data

- Providing practical WH&S; guidance to managers and employees

- Supporting consultation, communication and safety awareness initiatives across the organisation

About You





You will have previous experience in a WH&S; Coordinator, WH&S; Advisor or similar position and be comfortable operating in a hands on role.

You will ideally bring:

- Previous experience supporting workplace health and safety activities

- A sound understanding of WH&S; legislation, compliance and risk management principles

- Experience with incident management, risk assessments and WH&S; documentation

- Strong administration, reporting and record keeping capabilities

- Confidence communicating with stakeholders at different levels of an organisation

- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities

- A practical and collaborative approach to workplace safety

- Relevant WH&S; qualifications will be highly regarded

Experience within education, not for profit or another people focused environment would be advantageous.
