About BAKE’D Sydney

BAKE’D Sydney is a growing hospitality brand known for its premium all-day breakfast, brunch, specialty coffee and signature desserts.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at BAKE’D Merrylands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong kitchen leader who thrives in a busy café environment and wants to grow with an expanding hospitality group.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, efficient service and strong kitchen performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and manage a busy breakfast and brunch kitchen.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, presentation and portion control.
- Supervise, train and develop kitchen staff.
- Manage food preparation, kitchen workflow and service efficiency.
- Monitor food costs, stock levels, ordering and wastage.
- Manage kitchen rosters and labour productivity.
- Maintain high food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
- Ensure compliance with company recipes, procedures and operational standards.
- Work closely with café management to achieve operational targets.




- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure a safe working workplace.

About You

- Minimum 3 years' experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or Senior Chef.
- Strong breakfast and brunch café experience is essential.
- Experience managing a high-volume kitchen.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong understanding of food costing, stock control and labour management.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Passion for food quality, consistency and presentation.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Availability to work weekends and public holidays as required.
