Metfit Industries is seeking a skilled CNC & Manual Machinist to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hands‑on position based in Acacia Ridge, QLD 4110, where you will operate and maintain both computer numerical control (CNC) and manual machining equipment. As a CNC & Manual Machinist, you will play a crucial role in delivering precision-engineered components that meet our clients' exacting specifications. This position is integral to our manufacturing operations and directly contributes to the quality and efficiency of our production processes.

What you'll be doing

- Operating CNC machining centres, lathes and milling machines to produce precision components according to technical specifications and drawings
- Setting up and programming CNC machines, including tool changes, workholding and parameter adjustments to optimise production runs
- Performing manual machining operations using conventional lathes, milling machines and other precision equipment when required
- Conducting quality inspections and measurements using precision measuring instruments such as micrometres, callipers and gauges to ensure components meet required tolerances
- Maintaining detailed production records, documenting completed work and reporting any issues or deviations from specifications
- Performing routine maintenance and cleaning of machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Troubleshooting machine problems and making minor adjustments to maintain production schedules
- Adhering to all workplace health and safety procedures and maintaining a safe working environment
- Collaborating with supervisors,



engineers and other team members to optimise production processes and resolve technical challenges

What we’re looking for

- Trade qualification or relevant experience as a CNC Machinist, Manual Machinist or equivalent in the engineering or manufacturing sector
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating CNC machining centres, CNC lathes and conventional manual machines
- Strong knowledge of precision engineering principles, tolerances and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;)
- Competency with computer numerical control programming (G-code and M-code) or willingness to develop this skill
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and work specifications
- Hands‑on experience with precision measuring instruments and quality control processes
- A solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work consistently
- Ability to work independently whilst collaborating effectively as part of a team
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing production demands
- Preferred experience with CAM software,



multi‑axis machining or aerospace and automotive component manufacturing
