The Role

We're looking for an experienced ICT System Administrator to support a specialist isolated trials network in Edinburgh, South Australia. You'll evaluate evolving security requirements against the Information Security Manual (ISM) and ACSC guidance, balancing capability needs against security, and make sure controls, processes and documentation are fit for purpose and implemented.

The ideal person has strong Windows, Windows Server and networking experience and can take ownership of building and integrating a solution, such as configuring firewall rules or writing accreditation documentation, while being happy to do day-to-day support such as unlocking accounts, reimaging machines and patching. The network is also set to grow, so you'll help extend it.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer servers, workstations and managed network equipment on an isolated trials network
- Design and integrate new systems, including firewall configuration and network segmentation
- Implement security controls in line with the ISM and ACSC hardening guidance
- Write and maintain certification and accreditation documentation, SOPs and system documentation
- Provide user support and gather requirements
- Carry out routine tasks such as account unlocks, machine reimaging and patching
- Deliver training and knowledge transfer to permanent staff

Required

- Server, workstation and network administration,



including Windows and Windows Server
- Comprehensive knowledge of the ISM and supporting ACSC guidance
- Experience developing and maintaining certification and accreditation documentation
- Firewall and network segmentation experience, such as Palo Alto firewalls and switching
- Ability to take ownership of building and integrating a solution, while happy to do routine support
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a similar ICT role

- Experience with Linux, VMware, NetApp storage, SQL Server and JIRA administration highly regarded
- Relevant ICT qualification in network administration highly regarded

- Location: Edinburgh, SA
- APS5 to APS6 equivalent
- Onsite on Commonwealth premises.
