Love Travelling, Meeting People and Getting Out of the Office?

Explore regional NSW, build your career in property management and make a meaningful difference in Aboriginal communities.

We're looking for two enthusiastic, reliable and community-minded Property Inspection Assistants to join our Housing Services team. If you enjoy being on the road, meeting new people, exploring different communities and working independently, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

You'll travel throughout regional NSW, visiting properties, meeting tenants and helping us maintain quality housing services for Aboriginal families and communities.

With a salary package, access to a work vehicle, all work-related travel expenses covered, and a laptop and mobile phone provided, you'll have the equipment and support needed to succeed.

This is an excellent opportunity to develop valuable skills in real estate, property inspections and housing management while enjoying the variety of a mobile, regional role.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Property Inspections Assistant, you'll support the management and maintenance of our housing portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include

- Property Inspections - Conduct scheduled residential property inspections, assess property conditions and identify maintenance requirements.

- Tenant Engagement - Build positive, respectful relationships with Aboriginal tenants and families, conducting inspections with professionalism, empathy and cultural awareness.

- Property Reporting - Complete digital inspection reports, take photographs and maintain accurate property records.

- Maintenance Identification - Identify maintenance issues, property damage and safety concerns, ensuring matters are reported and followed up.

- Travel & Scheduling - Plan your inspection schedules, coordinate tenant appointments and manage travel efficiently across your allocated region.

- Housing Administration - Support the Housing Services team with property records, tenancy documentation, customer enquiries and general administration.

- Team Collaboration - Work closely with Housing Officers and other staff to ensure inspections are completed and property information is accurate and up to date.

Explore Regional NSW - All Work-Related Travel Paid

This isn't your typical office job!

You'll spend approximately three weeks each month travelling throughout your allocated region, conducting inspections, visiting communities and working directly with tenants.

For approximately one week each month, you'll travel to our Port Macquarie office to complete administration, update property records and support the Housing Services team.

Our housing portfolio extends across a large and diverse region, from Tweed Heads to Taree, and inland to Toomelah, Tamworth and surrounding communities.

All approved work-related travel expenses are covered by Many Rivers, allowing you to focus on delivering quality housing services.

Travel will likely include multiple overnight stays. You may be away from home all week, staying in hotels and travelling to inspect properties, returning on weekends.

Where Can You Be Based?

We're recruiting two positions and welcome applications from suitable candidates living across our service area.

Preferred regional bases include

- Casino / Lismore - Ideally positioned for servicing Tweed Heads, the Northern Rivers, Maclean and Grafton.

- Taree / Port Macquarie - A central location for servicing Grafton, Kempsey, Port Macquarie, Wauchope and surrounding communities.

- Glen Innes / Armidale - Well positioned for servicing Tenterfield, Armidale, Walcha, Toomelah and the New England region.

Other suitable regional locations may be considered. Your allocated inspection region will be determined based on operational needs and the locations of successful applicants.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for friendly, dependable, organised people who enjoy travelling, working independently, and interacting with others.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Good organisation, time management and attention to detail.

- Confidence using smartphones, tablets, computers and digital applications.

- The ability to maintain accurate records, complete reports and follow established procedures.

- A practical approach to identifying property maintenance and safety concerns.

- Solid cultural awareness and respect for Aboriginal households, families and cultural protocols.

- A professional, empathetic and approachable manner when engaging with tenants.

- The ability to manage your own workload and work independently.

- A current driver's licence and willingness to undertake regular regional travel.

- Reliability, initiative and a genuine commitment to delivering quality services.

- Open C Licence and clean driving history.

- Clean and presentable appearance.

- Well-spoken and respectful.

Experience in real estate, property management, housing, administration or customer service would be highly regarded.

Previous property inspection experience is not essential.

We're particularly interested in people who are motivated to learn, comfortable using technology and capable of working independently while maintaining high professional standards.

Your Employment Package: approximately $95,000

We want our employees to have the resources, equipment and support they need to succeed. In addition to your salary, this position includes:

- Vehicle provided - Access to a work vehicle for undertaking inspections and regional travel.

- All work-related travel paid - Approved travel expenses covered across your allocated service area, including required trips to Port Macquarie.

- Laptop provided - Modern equipment to complete inspections, reports and administrative work.

- Mobile phone provided - Stay connected with tenants, colleagues and support services while travelling.

- Training and development - Develop practical skills in property inspections, housing administration and property management.

- Career opportunities - Build experience that can support progression into broader housing and property management roles.
