As a Casual Kitchen Hand, you will support the day-to-day operations of the kitchen by assisting with cleaning, dishwashing, basic food preparation and maintaining an organised working environment.
This role is suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced hospitality environment, takes pride in their work and is willing to assist the kitchen team wherever required.
Key Responsibilities
- Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils and kitchen equipment efficiently.
- Operating commercial dishwashing equipment in accordance with workplace procedures.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen, dishwashing area and food preparation spaces.
- Cleaning floors, benches, shelving, equipment and other designated areas.
- Assisting chefs with basic food preparation tasks as directed.
- Ensuring rubbish is removed regularly and waste is disposed of correctly.
- Maintaining clean and organised storage areas.
- Assisting with deliveries,
including checking, moving and storing stock as required.
- Following food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures.
- Using cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and in accordance with instructions.
- Following opening, closing and cleaning checklists.
- Supporting chefs and other kitchen team members during busy service periods.
- Maintaining a professional attitude and contributing to a positive team workplace.
- Completing any other reasonable duties as directed by the Head Chef or management.
Job Type: Casual Pay: $33.50 – $36.00 per hour
