We have an exciting and rare opportunity for a passionate landscaper to join our team as a Landscape Construction Supervisor.

About us:

Ian Barker Landscapes (the construction division of Ian Barker Gardens) creates some of Melbourne's most admired gardens. We build gardens of significance that transform how families live - spaces that evoke feelings people never knew they needed, delivered with calm, ease and meticulous execution.

We are looking for someone who:

- Has prior experience in the same or a similar role with demonstrated knowledge in ALL areas of landscape construction (ideally at least three years of experience as a supervisor)
- Has experience in high-end residential landscape construction
- Has sound knowledge of both hard and soft landscape construction techniques
- Has a Certificate III in Landscape Construction (or similar)
- Has an Australian White Card
- Is passionate about landscape construction and has an eagerness to learn and develop their skills as well as lead and impart knowledge to other employees, especially apprentices
- Is a supportive team player who helps to foster a culture of collaboration to achieve the best outcomes for our clients' gardens
- Maintains a high professional standard by taking an organised and effective approach to tasks and responsibilities, and can problem-solve when required
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills

What you can expect your days to look like:

- Leading a team of skilled landscapers and apprentices on a day-to-day basis in all areas of landscape construction
- Plan and schedule materials for your designated projects
- Communicate with office staff and clients on-site regarding project progress
- Mentor junior staff and apprentices to help develop their landscaping skills
- Ensure site safety and construction quality are upheld to the highest standard
- Our team typically works in the inner eastern suburbs of Melbourne (Canterbury, Camberwell, Kew, Hawthorn, Toorak, Malvern, Glen Iris, Armadale, etc.) with the occasional jobs outside of this area
