An established practice. An opportunity to make it your own.
With our founder, Chad Timmermans, relocating to Newcastle, we are looking for a physiotherapist to take over the day-to-day running and clinical leadership of our Melbourne practice.
You will be stepping into an established clinic with a full client caseload, continuing the care of children, adults and families who already attend The Timmermans Method.
Initially, you will be the clinic’s sole treating therapist and practice manager. This is a hands-on role combining clinical care with responsibility for daily practice operations. As the business grows, you will help recruit and develop another therapist to join you.
This opportunity could suit
- A paediatric physiotherapist who enjoys working with children and would also like to support adult neurological clients.
- A neurological physiotherapist who would like to extend their work into paediatrics.
You may already have leadership experience, or you may be an experienced clinician ready to take that next step. What matters is that you can work independently, recognise when to seek advice, and take responsibility for both client care and the running of the clinic.
About The Timmermans Method
We support children with brain injuries, developmental conditions and complex movement difficulties, alongside a smaller adult neurological caseload. Many of our clients access services through the NDIS.
Our approach combines individual assessment, purposeful movement practice and tailored therapy programmes to support functional goals. Depending on each client’s needs and clinical suitability, our programmes may incorporate approaches such as the Therasuit Method,
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI), Hydrotherapy, balance therapy, and neuromodulation.
Parent and carer education is central to our work. We help families understand their child’s goals and develop the skills and confidence to support practice at home.
Your role
Clinical care
- Assess and deliver individualised physiotherapy for paediatric and adult neurological clients.
- Develop meaningful goals with clients and families, monitor progress and adjust programmes accordingly.
- Deliver one to one therapy, including intensive programmes, hydrotherapy and occasional community visits.
- Teach parents and carers practical ways to support movement and function at home.
- Collaborate with clients’ other treating professionals and support networks.
- Maintain clinical records and prepare reports
Practice leadership
- Oversee the day to day running of the Melbourne clinic.
- Manage your caseload and coordinate clinical priorities.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients, families and referrers.
- Identify practical improvements to clinic operations and service delivery.
- Help guide sustainable growth and recruit another therapist when the practice is ready to expand.
About you
You will bring
- A recognised physiotherapy qualification and current general registration with AHPRA.
- Experience in paediatric or neurological physiotherapy, with an interest in developing your skills across both.
- The clinical judgement and confidence to work as the sole treating therapist.
- Strong communication, organisation and relationship building skills.
- A collaborative approach to working with families and other professionals.
- An interest in practice management, service development and future team leadership.
Previous practice management experience is welcome, but you do not need to have held a manager title to apply. What we offer
- An established practice with a full client caseload.
- Clinical autonomy and the opportunity to shape the clinic’s development.
- A pathway to building and leading a clinical team.
- Full funding for professional development required by the clinic.
- A KPI-linked bonus scheme available from the second year.
- A phone and computer.
