My client is a leading Australian homewares and lifestyle retailer looking to appoint an additional Legal Counsel to join its growing in-house legal team. With a network of hundreds of stores across Australia, this is a hands-on role at the centre of the business’s continued growth.
You’ll take ownership of retail leasing matters from start to finish, including new store transactions, renewals, negotiations and lease documentation. You’ll also support the business and legal team with commercial contracts and practical day-to-day advice across a range of business issues.
This is a chance to work closely with senior business stakeholders and join a collaborative team around you.
You’ll bring:
- 2–4 years’ post-admission experience in commercial property law
- Some exposure to retail leasing and a sound understanding of the leasing process
- Robust drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- A practical, commercially minded approach and the confidence to manage your own matters
You could be working in private practice or in-house. Retail industry experience would be welcome, but it isn’t essential. What matters is your experience, curiosity about how a business operates and interest in building a broad in-house legal career. This is an outstanding opportunity for a lawyer to develop real ownership, work with a supportive team and contribute to a well-known retailer’s next stage of growth.
