Logistics Analyst

Permanent, Full Time | Melbourne, VIC | Hybrid

About the company A global leader in specialty chemical and food ingredient distribution is investing heavily in its supply chain capability, and this is your chance to be part of it. With a stable, international footprint and a leadership team driving a clear agenda, the business is in the middle of a genuine transformation.

About the role

This is a newly created Logistics Analyst position within the supply chain team. Everything the business sells is imported, moving from overseas suppliers through to a third-party warehouse and out into domestic freight, across thousands of SKUs. As systems are upgraded and manual processes are replaced, you’ll be right in the thick of it, helping the team work smarter and make better decisions.

You’ll work closely with planners, product, business improvement, analytics and finance, and you’ll have a real voice in how things evolve.

What you’ll be doing

- Analysing inbound and domestic freight data to spot trends, delays and cost opportunities
- Investigating the causes of product delays and excess inventory, and recommending practical fixes
- Building and maintaining reporting that gives the supply chain team explicit visibility

- Supporting the shift from manual processes to improved systems and ways of working
- Collaborating with stakeholders across planning, product, business improvement, analytics and finance
- Working with the 3PL and freight partners to keep the flow of imported product on track

About you
- 3-5 years’ experience in logistics, ideally as a Logistics Coordinator ready to step up into a more analytical role
- Exposure to imports and overseas suppliers, and domestic freight
- Strong Excel skills, and a sharp, curious approach to problem solving
- A solid grasp of how logistics works end to end, and the ability to ask “how could we do this better?”
- Experience on projects or process improvement initiatives is highly regarded
- An interest in data, automation or AI, or an engineering or analytical background, is a bonus
- Confident communicator who is comfortable working with senior stakeholders

Why this role
- A newly created role at a time of real change, with the chance to make your mark
- Work alongside genuinely excellent leaders who are driving a clear agenda
- A genuine step up into analytical work, with strong career development potential
- Join a global, stable organisation
- Hybrid working, with more flexibility once you’re embedded in the business
