About the role

No two days at PACK & SEND Gepps Cross are exactly the same. One moment you may be helping a customer at the front counter or preparing a freight quote. The next you could be professionally packing an unusual item, organising freight in the warehouse, loading a carrier vehicle or heading out to complete a customer collection. This is a varied role combining customer service, freight and transport, professional packing, warehouse operations and local pick-ups and deliveries.

Key responsibilities

- Serving customers at the front counter and helping identify suitable freight and packaging solutions
- Answering incoming phone calls and responding to customer emails and enquiries
- Preparing freight quotations and following up customer enquiries
- Processing bookings, payments, invoices and consignments
- Professionally packing freight for safe transport, including small parcels, cartons, fragile goods, artworks, machinery and heavyweight freight
- Measuring, weighing, labelling and consigning freight
- Receiving, checking, organising and dispatching incoming and outgoing freight
- Loading and unloading vehicles and carrier trucks
- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment
- Carrying out local customer pick-ups and deliveries in the PACK & SEND vehicle
- Liaising with courier drivers, freight carriers, customers and other logistics partners
- Tracking and tracing consignments and helping resolve delivery issues
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse
- Assisting with minor maintenance, repairs and practical jobs around the service centre
- Completing general administrative and operational duties as required

About you





- Previous experience in freight, transport, logistics, courier or warehouse operations
- A good understanding of freight handling and transport processes
- Practical ability and good general handyman skills
- Experience packing, handling or securing freight
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner
- A current and valid Australian Driver's Licence
- A current and valid Forklift Licence
- A current National Police Clearance, or willingness to obtain one
- Confidence using computers, email and general business systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to work independently without constant supervision
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team
- The physical capability to safely perform the manual aspects of the position
- A positive attitude and willingness to help wherever required
