Take technical ownership of a business-critical MDM platform

Motion Australia is partnering with Method Recruitment Group to recruit an experienced MDM Specialist – Stibo STEP to support the ongoing development, enhancement and operation of its enterprise Master Data Management platform.

As a leading distributor of industrial products and services, Motion operates in a complex, data-rich environment where accurate and reliable product information is critical to business operations and customer experience.

Following a significant investment in Stibo STEP, Motion is looking to strengthen its internal technical capability with a hands-on specialist who can take ownership of technical activities, troubleshoot issues and deliver ongoing platform enhancements.

This is an opportunity to become a key internal technical resource, working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams and an established external development partner to keep the platform running smoothly and drive continuous improvement.

The opportunity

This is a varied, hands-on position combining STEP development, configuration, integrations and application support.

You'll be the go-to internal technical specialist for Stibo STEP, taking ownership of day-to-day technical issues, delivering enhancements and working with external development partners to progress more complex initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

- Develop, configure and enhance Stibo STEP data models, workflows, business rules and integrations.
- Write, modify and troubleshoot JavaScript business rules, validation logic and automated processes.
- Investigate and resolve application issues,



failed integrations, background processes and data quality problems.
- Support inbound and outbound integrations between STEP and other enterprise systems.
- Monitor application performance, diagnose technical issues and implement sustainable solutions.
- Manage incidents, enhancements and change requests through ServiceNow, Jira or similar tools.
- Coordinate testing, documentation and deployment of changes across development, test and production environments.
- Collaborate with external development partners to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver platform improvements.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, resolve issues and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a technically capable, proactive problem-solver who enjoys taking ownership and is equally comfortable developing solutions and supporting a live enterprise platform.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- Hands-on experience developing, configuring and supporting Stibo STEP MDM/PIM solutions.
- Strong JavaScript skills, particularly developing and troubleshooting STEP business rules.
- Understanding of STEP data models, attributes, product hierarchies, workflows and classifications.
- Experience with data integrations, APIs, XML/JSON and import/export processes.
- Ability to investigate application logs, diagnose integration failures and resolve data-related issues.




- Experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment.
- Familiarity with incident management, change control and ticketing tools such as ServiceNow or Jira.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to work independently with business stakeholders and external technical teams.

Experience with STEP REST APIs, IIEP/OIEP, ERP integrations, SQL, Git or CI/CD practices would be highly regarded.

Above all, we're looking for someone who can take ownership, investigate issues independently and drive solutions through to resolution, while knowing when to collaborate with specialist development partners.
