About The Role

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will be an integral part of our team, ensuring the day-to-day support and engagement of Chrysalis residents. Your role involves assisting residents with psychosocial supports, fostering independent living skills, and overseeing social and recreational activities in a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed manner.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

- Provide recovery-oriented, trauma-informed psychosocial support.
- Support residents to achieve recovery goals and build independence.
- Assist with daily living skills and household tasks.
- Promote community participation and social connection.
- Support appointment attendance and medication management (we have to be mindful here because we don't administer medication - medication is stored by us but self-administered by the resident)
- Facilitate social and recreational activities.
- Identify risks, de-escalate conflict and report incidents.
- Maintain accurate case notes and shift handovers.
- Collaborate with residents, colleagues and external support providers.
- Maintain a protected, supportive residential environment.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision and training.
- Work across a 24/7 roster, including nights, weekends and public holidays

Qualifications and Requirements:

- Certificate 4 in Mental Health or equivalent tertiary qualification.

OR





- Currently undertaking a Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent.

- Full, unrestricted South Australian Driver’s License.

- First Aid and CPR certificate.

- National Police Certificate.

- DHS Vulnerable Person Related Employment Check, DHS Aged Care Employment Check, DHS Disability Employment Check, or DHS Working with Children Check.
