Automotive Returns & Credit Processing Officer

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented person to join our team in Automotive Returns & Credit Processing. This role is responsible for checking returned automotive parts, determining whether the return meets our requirements, and processing customer credits. This is more than an administration position. You will need a positive understanding of automotive parts and the ability to inspect returned goods and use your judgement to determine whether the customer's return is genuine and meets our return conditions.

Key responsibilities

Receive and inspect automotive parts returned by customers.

Confirm the returned item is the same item that was originally supplied by us.

Check part numbers, specifications, appearance, and condition.

Inspect parts for signs that components have been removed, swapped, used, damaged, modified, or tampered with.

Check that the item is complete and in a condition that meets our return requirements.

Review the customer's reason for return and determine whether the customer's story and the condition of the item match.

Identify suspicious, inconsistent, or potentially fraudulent returns.

Determine whether a return should be accepted,



rejected, or referred for further investigation.

Process customer credits accurately once a return has been approved.

Record return and credit information accurately in our systems.

About you

Has automotive parts knowledge or hands-on automotive experience.

Can identify automotive parts and understand what they are used for.

Has a good eye for detail and takes pride in checking things properly.

Is confident inspecting parts and making decisions based on their condition.

Can spot when something doesn't look right.

Is able to determine whether a customer's explanation makes sense based on the condition of the returned item.

Understands the difference between a genuine faulty part, an incorrect part, a used part, and an item that has been damaged or tampered with.

Is comfortable saying no to a return when it does not meet company requirements and can explain the reason professionally.

Is organised and accurate when processing credits and maintaining records.

Has good computer skills and is comfortable working with inventory and sales systems.
