LEAFE’S provides supported employment opportunities for NDIS participants to develop workplace skills, build confidence and participate in genuine paid employment.

Our program combines retail activities and jewellery making in a real workplace environment. We are seeking caring, reliable and motivated Support Workers to provide one-on-one support to individual participants at our Colonnades Shopping Centre location.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will work directly with one participant at a time, providing individualised assistance throughout their employment activities.

You will help the participant develop independence, learn new skills, participate in retail operations and undertake jewellery-making tasks, while encouraging them to complete as much of their work independently as possible.

Key Responsibilities

1. Individual Participant Support

- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to an allocated participant during their shift.
- Follow the participant’s individual support needs and agreed goals.
- Encourage independence, confidence and workplace participation.
- Provide clear instructions, demonstrations and practical assistance.
- Support communication, decision-making and problem-solving.
- Maintain the participant’s dignity, privacy and professional boundaries.

1. Retail Activities

- Assist the participant with customer service and sales activities.
- Support stock organisation, pricing and product displays.
- Help with setting up and packing down the retail pop-up.
- Encourage qualified communication and customer interaction.




- Assist with developing transferable retail and workplace skills.

1. Jewellery Making

- Demonstrate jewellery-making and assembly techniques.
- Assist with organising materials, tools and finished products.
- Encourage safe tool use, attention to detail and quality control.
- Help the participant build practical production skills at their own pace.

1. Workplace Safety and Documentation

- Maintain a safe and organised workplace.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
- Report hazards, incidents and concerns promptly.
- Complete required attendance records and shift notes.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with LEAFE’S policies.

Essential Requirements
- A genuine interest in supporting people with disability.
- Strong communication, patience and interpersonal skills.
- Reliability, punctuality and a professional attitude.
- Willingness to support both retail and jewellery-making activities.
- Ability to encourage independence while providing appropriate assistance.
- Legal right to work in Australia.
- Willingness to obtain required screening checks and training.

Previous disability support, retail or jewellery-making experience is desirable but may not be essential, depending on the applicant’s suitability.

Employment Conditions

- Location: Colonnades Shopping Centre, Adelaide, SA.
- Support arrangement: One worker supporting one participant at a time.
- Work type: In-person retail and jewellery-making activities.
- Hours: Casual shifts, subject to participant demand and roster availability.
- Environment: Retail pop-up store and practical product-making activities.
