Surematch Recruitment is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join an alternative medical centre in Cairns, Far North Queensland, providing medicinal cannabis consultations and ongoing patient care.

This opportunity would suit a compassionate practitioner with strong clinical assessment skills, sound prescribing judgement and an interest in individualised patient care.

About the role

- Conduct comprehensive consultations, reviewing medical histories, symptoms and previous treatments.
- Assess suitability for medicinal cannabis treatment, including contraindications and medication interactions.
- Develop individualised treatment plans and prescribe where clinically appropriate and authorised.
- Educate patients about treatment options, potential benefits, risks and monitoring requirements.
- Provide follow-up consultations to monitor treatment effectiveness and side effects.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and meet relevant prescribing requirements.




- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to support coordinated care.

About you

- Current AHPRA registration with endorsement as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Strong clinical assessment, reasoning and medication management skills.
- Ability to practise autonomously within your professional scope.
- A compassionate, professional and non-judgemental approach.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Commitment to safe prescribing and ongoing career development.
- Medicinal cannabis prescribing experience is highly regarded.
- Based in Cairns or willing to relocate.
