Nurse Unit Manager – Rehabilitation & Palliative Care

Location: Rural NSW

Hours: Permanent Full time | Fixed Monday–Friday

Salary: $69.03ph + Super & Salary Packaging

Start Date: ASAP An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced NUM to lead a 22-bed rehabilitation and palliative care ward, alongside an outpatient rehabilitation service, within an established private hospital in regional NSW.

This role suits a visible, hands-on leader who enjoys developing teams, improving systems and making a meaningful difference. You’ll have the opportunity to strengthen day-to-day operations, build a positive team culture and shape the ongoing development of the service.

The Role

- Oversee 14 inpatient rehabilitation beds, eight palliative care beds and outpatient rehabilitation services.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team delivering safe, compassionate and person-centred care.
- Strengthen rostering, workforce planning and daily operations.
- Set clear expectations, support staff development and manage performance.
- Coordinate admissions, discharges and patient flow across the service.
- Manage budgets, staffing and resources.
- Report directly to the Director of Clinical Services,



with clinical support from a CNE and two CNSs.

Requirements

- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum five years’ postgraduate acute nursing experience.
- Experience across rehabilitation and palliative care
- Confidence leading service improvements and supporting teams through change.
- Strong rostering, workforce planning and resource management skills.
