Private Energy Partners (PEP) is seeking an Operations and Asset Manager for our Supernode Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility in Brendale. In this pivotal role, you won't just be managing day-to-day operations; you will be responsible for the safe, reliable, compliant, and commercially optimised performance of a utility-scale BESS throughout its lifecycle. You will lead the transition from construction to commercial operations, ensuring our assets deliver on their contracted performance and revenue objectives while upholding the highest standards of safety and compliance.

What You’ll Do:



You will ensure the seamless and efficient operation of the Supernode BESS, balancing daily performance with long-term asset health. Key focus areas include:

- Operations & Asset Performance: Oversee the daily operations of the BESS facilities to maximise availability (>98%), reliability, and efficiency. You will manage battery State of Health (SOH) and State of Charge (SOC), oversee SCADA, EMS, and BMS systems, and coordinate with energy traders, AEMO, and network service providers (like Powerlink).
- Maintenance & Integrity: Develop and implement robust preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies. You will manage contractor relationships, OEM service providers, and long-term service agreements (LTSA) while maintaining critical asset registers and spare parts inventory.
- Commercial & Financial Leadership: Prepare and manage OPEX budgets and support CAPEX forecasting. You will identify cost-optimisation initiatives without compromising safety and ensure commercial obligations and revenue targets are met.
- Safety & Compliance: Establish a proactive safety culture, ensuring strict adherence to WHS legislation, environmental approvals,



and the Security of Critical Infrastructure Act 2018 (CIRMP). You will expertly manage BESS-specific risks such as thermal runaway and arc flash.
- Transition Management: Lead the seamless transition of the BESS project from EPC construction and commissioning into full commercial operations, ensuring operational readiness and effective handover.

Who You Are:

- The Strategic Leader: You possess demonstrated leadership experience managing, projects with commercial risk, managing long-term service agreements (LTSA), accountability across safety, cost, program, and commissioning.
- The Technical Expert: You are an electrically qualified engineer or technologist with substantial experience in heavy industry, energy, power, or infrastructure operations.
- The Authentic Communicator: You possess proven ability for credible engagement and strong interpersonal skills, capable of managing diverse workloads, complex technical disputes, and high-level stakeholder relationships.
- Desirable: You ideally bring experience with lithium-ion battery technology, AEMO market operations, and National Electricity Rules. Familiarity with ISO 55001, SCADA systems, and CMMS is a strong plus.
