We’re looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Paint Salesperson to join our Mackay team and become part of a long-standing, proudly Australian, family-owned business.

This is more than just a sales role. You’ll have the opportunity to build lasting customer relationships, share your product knowledge, solve problems, and help customers bring their projects to life — whether they’re working on an automotive, marine, industrial or home improvement project.

A key part of this role will be paint tinting, colour matching and mixing, so we’re looking for someone who enjoys the practical, technical side of paint as well as working with customers. You’ll use colour-matching software, tinting systems and mixing equipment to prepare paint accurately, helping customers achieve the right colour, finish, and performance for their specific application.

? What You’ll Be Doing

As a Paint Salesperson, you’ll be a key part of our team, providing friendly, knowledgeable service and helping our customers find the right products for their needs.

Reporting to the Store Manager, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

- Helping customers: Delivering outstanding service across our automotive, marine, industrial and house paint ranges, along with associated products and consumables.
- Colour matching: Tinting and mixing paint to precise specifications using colour-matching software and equipment.
- Building relationships: Developing strong, lasting relationships with customers and trade partners.




- Managing sales and orders: Preparing accurate quotes, processing sales and invoices, and responding to customer enquiries via phone and email.
- Keeping things moving: Receiving and checking stock, picking, and packing orders, and organising customer deliveries.
- Supporting the team: Assisting with general store, showroom, and warehouse operations to keep everything running smoothly.
- Creating a great environment: Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming showroom and workspace.
- Looking after our customers: Handling enquiries, resolving concerns and managing the occasional complaint with professionalism and care.
- Working safely: Following all workplace health and safety procedures.

⭐ What You’ll Bring We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in what they do and is happy to roll up their sleeves in a busy, hands-on environment.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with customers both face-to-face and over the phone.
- A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
- A genuine passion for customer service and building long-term relationships.
- Good organisation and time-management skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Experience in paint, automotive, industrial coatings, hardware, or a related sales environment.
- The ability to safely handle and lift items weighing 20kg or more.




- A current forklift licence would be an advantage, but it’s not essential.
